Actionable Analytics

Six outcomes. A model for each. All of them yours.

Most platforms predict one thing: will this student come back. Civitas builds a separate model for persistence, graduation, engagement, thriving, grades, and career outcomes — trained on your history, retrained every term, at 89% accuracy.

Two minutes: what leaders see when every student outcome has a model behind it.

Unlock the Power of Actionable Insights

Disconnected data, siloed systems, and little insight into what works. The Institutional Impact Platform replaces that with unified, real-time analytics for better decisions, earlier support, and measurable results.

Institution-Specific Predictive Models

Every model is built on your own student history, never on another school's data or national averages. More models per institution than anyone else in the category, all custom: six outcomes, retrained each term as students, curriculum, and policy change, at 89% accuracy.

Institution-Specific Predictive Models

Six outcomes, modeled end to end

Go beyond retention. Persistence, graduation, engagement, thriving, grades, and career outcomes each get their own model, so every team sees what is likely next on the outcome it owns — not one risk score. End to end: first term to what a graduate earns.

Multi Outcome Analytics

Real-Time, Holistic Views

No waiting for end-of-term reports. Current student profiles, academic alerts, and initiative analysis let teams find at-risk students, spot bottlenecks, and coordinate interventions every day.

Why Civitas Learning Analytics?

Actionable, Not Overwhelming

Insight arrives daily in the workflow, so teams act now, not after the term.

Comprehensive, Not Fragmented

All your data sources in one 360° view of student progress and risk.

Six Outcomes, Not One Risk Score

Persistence, graduation, engagement, thriving, grades, and career outcomes, each with its own model.

Custom, Not Pooled

Trained on your students, retrained each term, never pooled into a benchmark sold to another institution.

Your data stays yours

Civitas works under FERPA as a school official you designate, with a published data sharing agreement and platform specifications. Accessibility conformance reports are available on request. Security and privacy → Trust Center →

What partners say
“We consolidated our data into Civitas Learning's data warehouse, using it as our central hub. This enables us to better understand our students and connect our data more efficiently and effectively.”
Chris CampbellCIO, DeVry University
“Our team uses the Civitas Learning platform to analyze a variety of programs and initiatives, giving us an idea of exactly which activities are really contributing to retention and persistence.”

Frequently asked questions

Questions institutions ask about actionable analytics

Short answers, in the words a cabinet uses. For anything not here, ask us directly.

What is an institution-specific predictive model?

A model trained on one college's own student records, not sector averages or a vendor's pooled data. It learns what predicts outcomes at that institution — the 14-credit part-timer, the transfer with a math gap — and is retrained each term. Civitas builds one for each of six outcomes, at 89 percent accuracy.

How is a predictive model different from an early alert rule?

A rule fires on a threshold someone chose, like a grade below C or a missed registration. A model weighs grades, credits, course patterns, aid, and engagement together, learns which combinations preceded departures at your institution, and ranks students by risk. Ask vendors for their signal list: a short, obvious list is a rule set.

How often are the models retrained?

Each term. A model built once at installation describes an institution that no longer exists: students, curriculum, and policies all change.

Which student outcomes do you actually model?

Six, each with its own model: persistence, graduation, engagement, thriving, grades, and career outcomes. Most platforms model one — whether a student returns — so ask vendors to list their outcomes, not claim "multi-outcome analytics." Course demand by section and term is forecast separately.

How many models does our institution get?

Six — one per outcome — plus the course demand forecast, all retrained every term on your history. A vendor that gives every customer the same model is giving you a model of the sector, not your students.

Can we see why a student was flagged?

Yes. Each prediction shows the factors behind it, so advisors see the reason, not just a score, and IR can audit model behavior.

Do we need data scientists on staff to use this?

No. Civitas builds and maintains the models, and results arrive in the tools advisors, deans, and IR already use. Analytics teams can also work with the underlying dataset directly. For institutional research →

Is our data used to train models for other institutions?

No. Each model is trained on one institution's data, and nothing is pooled into a cross-institution benchmark.
