One app for courses, advisors, and what comes next.
Inspire is a native app students install on their phone. Courses, alerts, notes, messages, and the calendar in one place — with an assistant that answers from their own record.
Students should not need four logins to get one answer.
Grades live in one system, coursework in another, the advisor in e-mail, and appointments somewhere else. Students give up, and the office never learns a question was asked.
Inspire brings it together in a native app — installed on the phone, not a mobile website or a shrunken advisor screen. Five tabs, the same on every screen:
- HomeProgram, credits, GPA
- CoursesCurrent, completed, transferred
- AssistantQuestions about your own record
- MessagesAdvisors and attachments
- MoreProfile, notes, alerts, events
Six things, one place.
Each one is a screen in the app today.
Ask Inspire
Summarize my progress. Show alerts that need attention. What is on my calendar? The assistant answers from the student’s own record.
Course history
In progress, completed, and transferred, with the class average and the instructor for each course.
Academic alerts
An advisor’s alert arrives as a card with the reason and the status, where the student will see it.
Shared notes
The notes the support team chooses to share, searchable and filtered by type.
Messages
Advisor messages and attached documents, in one private thread.
Calendar
Appointments, events, and advising time together. Find a time and book it.
Private by design.
The app shows a student only what the student is already allowed to see. It is covered by the same FERPA agreement as the platform.
The student side of the same platform.
Grades, credits, and courses come from your systems of record through the platform. Nothing has to be replaced.
The advisor acts
Writes the note, issues the alert, offers the time — in the advising workflow.
The student responds
Reads it, answers it, and books it on the phone.
The institution measures
What the student does becomes engagement data, one of the six outcomes Civitas models.
Questions institutions ask about the student mobile app
Short answers, in the words a cabinet uses. For anything not here, ask us directly.
Is Inspire a native app, or a mobile-friendly website?
A native mobile app. Students install it on their phone and sign in with their institutional e-mail. It is not a responsive version of the advising tools.
What is the Civitas Learning student mobile app called?
Inspire. It is the student side of the Institutional Impact Platform: courses, alerts, notes, messages, and the calendar in one app.
What can a student do in the app?
Check program, credits, and GPA; review course history with class averages and instructors; respond to academic alerts; read advisor messages and shared notes; book advising time; and ask the assistant about any of it.
How does a student sign in?
With a one-time code sent to the institutional inbox. There is no password, and each code expires quickly and works once.
What can the assistant see?
Only records the student can already open. It tells the student to confirm important academic decisions with an advisor.
Do students see every advising note?
No. They see only the notes the support team chose to share, and the notes screen says so.
Do we have to replace our student information system?
No. Grades, credits, and course history come from your systems of record through the platform. See how the platform connects them.
How does the app help the institution, not only the student?
Alerts, notes, and appointments reach students where they look, and what students do becomes engagement data — one of the six outcomes Civitas models. See the outcomes we model.
Is the app included, or priced separately?
Pricing depends on institution size and the parts of the platform you use. See how pricing works.
Bring your questions. Leave with an estimate you can defend.
A 45-minute working session: we start from your public IPEDS figures, show what the platform found at institutions like yours, and size the outcome — before anyone touches your data.
