Student records and FERPA
Civitas Learning works as a school official that your institution designates under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The terms are set out in the data sharing agreement, which also covers the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulations for institutions that need them. Our privacy policy states how we treat personal information as FERPA-compliant stewards of institutional data.
Access
Users sign in with your institution’s single sign-on. A username and password can be configured in place of single sign-on at your request. Access rules for each product are listed in the platform specifications.
What we collect and how it flows
The standard data specifications list the records the platform reads from your student information system, learning management system, and other sources, and how they are used.
Accessibility
We are committed to WCAG 2.0 Level AA conformance and can provide Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates on request. See the accessibility statement.
